Banned Banner Decision Backfires
...Ginny Maziarka posts some story about how when a school wouldn't allow cheerleaders to hold banners with bible verses, then other people did instead....
I like the story..... well, sort of. The parents and others attending the sporting event can wear whatever T-shirts they want, or bring banners within the limits of public safety. They have that Free Speech right.
The school, however, does not, since it is a government agency and is prohibited from endorsing any particular religion. The cheerleaders effectively speak for the school, as would be the case if a pre-game prayer were read over the PA system. This has been tested in courts any number of times, so the decision in Georgia is not a surprise to anyone (except maybe Ms. M.)
That's why I created this blog, WISSUP-Uncensored, where each of Ginny's posts will be linked to, with a brief introduction, providing and open comment policy for you to discuss her rhetoric free from moderation.
